1.) Describe your character’s relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?


Mother: Edina loved her mother, completely and utterly. When her mother was around things were wonderful. She was her mother’s princess, allowed to have whatever they could afford when it came to toys and books, her mother was so proud of her clever young daughter. After Edina’s difficult birth her mother could no longer have children, so Edina was spoilt rotte for a time. Everything was good until her father lost his job. They needed money so her mother did what she had to when things got desperate enough and became a prostitute. Things got bad from then on, Edina was neglected for her parent’s arguments, her father became alcohol dependant and his already medieval views on women got worse. Her mother died when Edina was 9.

Father: He was a good dad for a while, but he’d never been a good man. To him women were made to be married and bear children so his mood soured vastly after Edina was born and after the difficult birth her mother was unable to have any more children. But he was alright, until he lost his job. He became bitter, twisted, saw himself as less of a man for being unable to support his family. When his wife took up prostitution to get them by he completely lost what little respect he did have for women. To him all women were sluts and whores, and after she died and he was left to bring up his daughter alone, he’d be damned if she were going to grow up to be one. A lot of Edina’s issues stem from this time of her life. She’d gone from being spoilt rotten to being ignored unless it was to be told she was a disappointment and a whore. Her father’s views on women have shaped her into how she is now. She spent all of her teens years being told what a whore she was and how filthy and disgusting she was. Whilst her hormones were going crazy, she was taught that to even look at a man or think of anything sexual made her a whore and a tramp, so she’s very very reserved on all those things now. Her father ruined her life, but she only ever wanted to make him proud. If he were to come and find her now, she’d probably still want to know if he was proud of her yet.

That’s pretty much exactly what she’s like (only maybe a bit pudgier around the middle) and she looks so adorable and lovely and oh God thank you so much! Now my baby can have an icon and be perfect and I am seriously flailing with joy! This is the best thing to wake up to! I don’t know how to show you my love enough. Thank you!
